I bought the bigger 15x23 table to cut out case foam on a Pelican Vault v800 (and future projects). The cuts I needed to make were pretty precise, and I wanted it to look clean. I was a little worried because I only saw reviews written for the smaller table. I was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived. It was very easy to setup and use out of the box. The wire heats up almost instantly and zipped right through the foam. You definitely need a steady hand and/or use the guide to get perfectly straight cuts, but it doesn't take much to pick up the skill. There is a temperature control that works well to adjust how hot you need to set the wire to cut through your particular foam type.The trickiest part was figuring out how to best connect the wire from the provided reel. I found that cutting a shorter strip of wire, and tying each end to it's own small fish hook (trim the points) works really well when you need to cut through-holes in the foam with no exit cut. It allows for quick disconnect so you can move to the next hole with little effort. It also allows you to easily set the wire tension so you can get the right cut for your project. When you are doing this, it's also helpful to have a square to make get the angle of your wire just right.I also recommend paying attention to where your table is sitting when you make cuts. If you are on a smooth hard surface the table tends to slip, get some rubber feet to stick on it. You could also choose a different working surface with a little more grip.I would definitely recommend purchasing this table if you are looking to make clean cuts on foam. I was able to make corrections after my first rough pass on some of the larger cuts. With the wire provided, this was able to remove super thing sheets of foam that I believe were slightly less that a millimeter thick.
