I love this little box cutter. Mostly because it's safe. It won't cut your fingers, or your kids' fingers. I have two little boys that get into everything and I don't have to worry that if I leave it out by accident they will injure themselves. The blade is sharp and cuts like a normal cutter or scissors but it's ceramic. I don't know why I didn't know about this before. Cutting up cardboard boxes is quick and easy now! It's definitely a lot smaller than I expected, but it's so much nicer that it is! It's easy to keep with me and not have something big or heavy in my pocket. Plus, the blade is made of plastic and it's sharper than any knife I've ever owned! I was able to scratch glass with it! I would definitely recommend this for how small, sharp, and convenient it is.I love, love, love this knife! I’ve always been scared of box cutters which leaves me with either using scissors (not the safest either) or just using my fingers to rip the boxes open and ruining my manicures in the process. I decided to try this based on the reviews as I was moving and would be opening a ton of boxes. I love how compact it is as well. Some people complain of having to use the slider to keep the knife out but, personally, I love that it autoretracts— it adds to the safety. I highly recommend this and use it constantly. This was purchased to help install new privacy clings for my windows, and it was really frustrating to finish the task with this product. The ceramic blade, while durable, is not very effective at cutting materials, let alone in a straight line. The cuts it did make ended up really jagged. I ended up using a pair of craft scissors for a good portion of this project due to the ineffectiveness of the blade. Outside of the project I bought it for, it works okay for shalshing tape on packages. I wouldn't trust it to do much more than that. The design of the blade is cute, and it feels good to hold. I also like the feature it has where you can flip the orientation of the blade. I'd strongly reccomend sticking to metal boxcutters if you need to get a tough or precise job done, but I can see this blade being good for people that are clumsy, or people that can't have sharp objects. I felt like I was using the safety scissor equivalent of a box cutter.I don’t often review products but I got a ton of paperwork today and I found these box cutters in the second package so I put it to good use and opened the rest of my packages. Easy as pie. This cutter does exactly what I need it to do and I’m not terrified that one of my kids going to get hurt with it. Obviously I’m not letting my kids play with them but I am much more comfortable with these than our other box cutter or utility knife. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to open packages or mail. This would not be good for tasks that require a sharp blade. I give it five stars and I’ve had it for ten minutes. LI was actually surprised when this came and the “blade” isn’t actually a blade but a form of sharp plastic. It does however slice through tape on boxes quite nice. I purchased mainly for my job. My number 1 dislike is that it doesn’t seem to have a feature where you can lock the blade so it stays out, you have to hold the slider up in order to use it and it’s inconvenient when you’re slicing through tons of boxes in a row. Also smaller than expected, fits in the palm of your hand.I got one of these for myself and my husband. We both work in a warehouse and the blade stayed awesome through every cut, just like a new one every time, however, the plastic piece that actually holds the blade is junk. The button that pushes the blade to the top broke off within two hours and both of the cases had cracked and broke before the work day had ended. So, they need to go back to the drawing board on making that part a little better. But the blade was excellent.Compact size
