Works great but as I was getting into a stide of cutting straps the spring flew off and I still can't get it back on. Thankfully is doest effect the operation just now the handle doesn't open on its own. Make sure to check the spring and it is seated before each use. Curious did any one else have and issue with the spring?I have been using this shear for a month or so. I does everything as advertised, but the handle could be a little bit longer for some added leverage. Makes a clean cut on thin and thick stock. The hole for cutting bar stock is handy. The bottom of the shear was far from flat, (hence 4 stars) which forced me to place shims under the mount holes to prevent snapping off one of the ears. All and all pleased with the purchase.Impossible to install the part meant to hold down metal sheets to be sheared. Insufficient clearance unless device is partially disassembled. Might they have sent the wrong part -- piece meant for a larger shear?Otherwise seems well constructed.I have been using this from February- December and I love it. I'm a metal smith. Having this on my bench has saved me many trips to my main guillotine shears. Definitely worth the money. It startled me when I opened the package... it was MUCH larger, sturdier, heavy duty than I expected... far too big for what I bought it for. So, I advertised it in Craigslist and sold it right away for $40 more than I paid for it, to a VERY satisfied auto repair shop.Makes straight cuts on sheet metal easy for me, haven't used the other features.I just got the shear today and I’m really disappointed in this product,iv been trying to contact the seller but no answers. I can’t even cut a thin stainless steel sheet with this, please the seller get back to me!!!This tool works the best
